Get To Know Your Worthington Chiropractor

  • Dr. Michael Nowell brings sharp expertise, relentless enthusiasm, and a results-driven approach to every patient he serves at Ability Chiropractic in Worthington, Ohio. As a leading chiropractor in Worthington, he combines advanced training with extensive education, holding a B.S. in Psychology from Denison University, a Master’s in Sports Science and Rehabilitation, and a Doctorate in Chiropractic. He also earned Diplomates in Applied Kinesiology, Systems Healthcare, and Acupuncture from Logan University, along with advanced coursework in pediatric and pregnancy care, equipping him to provide precise, transformative care for patients at every stage of life.

Driven by his father’s experience, Dr. Michael specializes in natural, drug-free care to help patients find relief from career- and life-altering injuries such as neck pain, back pain, and other musculoskeletal conditions. Growing up in Westerville, Ohio, he witnessed firsthand the transformative power of chiropractic when his father, a Columbus police officer, suffered a severe neck injury. After herniating four discs, traditional medicine offered only partial relief, and surgery seemed inevitable. It wasn’t until his father was placed under the care of a chiropractor that he discovered something all other avenues lacked—hope. For the first time, he realized he didn’t have to undergo surgery, stop doing what he loved, or give up hope—because chiropractic offered a tool to heal naturally.

Guided by the principle that the body has an innate ability to heal when given the right support, that experience inspired Dr. Michael’s lifelong mission: helping patients heal naturally and fully engage in the activities they love. He has a particular passion for caring for children and expectant moms, driven by a desire to instill the same hope and healing mentality in his community that his father experienced at 40—from day one, through life-giving chiropractic care.

  • Growing up in rural Leesburg, Ohio, Dr. Brody Morris was introduced early to the limitations of traditional medicine. His mother, a nurse, and his uncles, physical therapists, shaped his understanding of healthcare, but it was his mother’s struggle with fatigue, weight gain, and chronic neck and back pain that left a lasting impression. When she discovered chiropractic care and brought Dr. Brody and his younger brother along, he witnessed firsthand the profound impact it could have—more energy, less pain, and a renewed sense of vitality.

Dr. Brody initially pursued a degree in Exercise Science at Wilmington College, intending to follow his uncles into physical therapy. While interning in PT offices, he realized his true passion was working with his hands to create deeper change—a calling he found through chiropractic. He went on to earn his Doctorate of Chiropractic from Parker University, where he developed expertise in therapeutic exercise and a focus on athletic care, helping everyone from weekend warriors to professional athletes enhance performance and reduce injury risk.

His philosophy was further shaped by his mother’s journey with Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis, a condition that caused fatigue and weight challenges. Through chiropractic care, he watched her regain energy, mobility, and the ability to fully participate in family life. Today, at 62, she’s thriving and keeping up with her grandkids—proof of the body’s innate ability to heal when given the right support.

With extensive expertise in biomechanics, injury prevention, and functional rehabilitation, he is passionate about helping patients in Worthington overcome frustration, reclaim confidence, and achieve lasting results. At Ability Chiropractic, he continues to honor the philosophy that first inspired him: with the right support, the body can transform, heal, and thrive.

Common Reasons Patients Visit

  • Chiropractic adjustments help reduce pressure on the spine and nerves, easing pain and restoring natural movement. This allows you to stay active and move more freely without constant discomfort.

  • Tension, posture issues, and nerve irritation often cause neck pain and headaches. Gentle chiropractic care helps release that tension, improve how your body moves, and reduce the frequency of migraines and everyday discomfort.

  • Your nervous system influences breathing and immune responses. Chiropractic adjustments support better body function, helping you breathe easier and experience more natural relief from allergy and asthma symptoms.

  • When the nervous system is under stress, the whole body feels it. Chiropractic care helps ease that pressure, calm the nervous system, and support relaxation, clearer focus, and a greater sense of well-being.

  • Gentle adjustments during pregnancy reduce back pain, improve body movement, and create more comfort for mom and baby. It is also proven to reduce labor time by 30%. Care can also support fertility by helping the nervous system and pelvis function more effectively.

Our Specialized Services

  • Every spine is unique. Our adjustments are personalized to your needs—whether it’s easing discomfort, improving range of motion, or addressing long-standing restrictions—so your body can function at its best.

  • From newborns to grandparents, chiropractic care is gentle, safe, and effective at every stage of life. We make it simple for the whole family to stay healthy, mobile, and active.

  • We go beyond the adjustment table. Our team guides you on posture, movement, and daily habits that protect your spine, reduce strain, and support long-term health.

  • Don’t wait for pain to slow you down. Regular chiropractic visits support better movement, help you avoid future flare-ups, and give you more energy for everyday life.

Have Questions? We Have Answers.

We believe in empowering you with knowledge.

Here are the answers to the most common questions our patients have before their first visit.

  • Yes. Chiropractic is one of the safest healthcare options available. Serious complications are extremely rare—less likely than being struck by lightning. Our profession’s malpractice insurance rates are proof of its safety.

  • Yes. We accept most insurance plans and will verify your coverage during your first visit.

Costs depend on your personalized care plan, which we design based on your health needs and goals. Many patients use insurance, and we’ll verify your benefits to help reduce your out-of-pocket costs. No insurance? We’ll work with you on an affordable payment plan.

    • Medicare: We accept most Medicare policies, including supplement plans. We’ll walk you through how it applies to your care.

    • Medicaid: Due to state restrictions, we cannot accept Medicaid payments. However, Medicaid recipients still qualify for our affordable self-pay rates.

  • Most likely, yes. After a full exam—including scans and X-rays if needed—your chiropractor will adjust you if it’s safe and appropriate. We’ll then schedule a follow-up to review your results and create your care plan.

  • Ability is proud of our hands on manual adjusting techniques. We use Chiropractic BioPhysics (CBP), a highly researched method focused on correcting spinal shifts. Adjustments may involve drop tables, gentle instruments, or traditional hands-on methods. We’ll always discuss your comfort level before starting.

  • Every patient is different. After your initial evaluation, your doctor will recommend a care plan tailored to your needs and goals. We don’t belive in once size fits all care!

Every body heals at its own pace. Some patients notice improvements after just 1–2 adjustments, while others take more time depending on their needs. Our focus is on removing nerve interference so your body can naturally heal and function at its best. There is such a thing as too few adjustments but never too many adjustments!

  • Yes. X-rays help us see exactly what’s happening with your spine so we can adjust you safely and effectively.

    • First visit: 30–40 minutes (consultation, X-rays, first adjustment)

    • Second visit: 30 minutes (review findings, second adjustment, care plan)

    • Ongoing visits: 15–20 minutes (focused adjustments, quick and effective)

  • It’s completely normal to feel nervous about neck adjustments. Many people do at first! The good news is that chiropractic neck adjustments are incredibly safe when performed by trained professionals. Our chiropractors use precise, gentle movements to restore proper motion in the cervical spine, and research shows the risk of serious complications is extremely low. Far lower than everyday activities like driving or getting your hair washed at a salon. Adjustments don’t “crack” bones; the sound you hear is the release of tiny pockets of air from the joints, similar to cracking your knuckles. We’ll always take the time to talk you through each step, answer your questions, and make sure you feel comfortable and in control before any adjustment happens. Your safety, trust, and comfort come first—always.

  • Every body heals at its own pace. Some patients notice improvements after just 1–2 adjustments, while others take more time depending on their condition. Our focus is on removing nerve interference so your body can naturally heal and function at its best.
